Cyprus Was Elected As One Of The Top 5 Safest Holiday Countries In The World In 2015

According to a research report published in Value Penguin, the survey results show that thanks to Cyprus’s good security management system and low incidence of theft, Cyprus became one of the world’s 5 safest vacation countries in 2015.

It is reported that the survey covered 107 countries out of about 195 countries around the world. Based on each country’s population, carbon dioxide emissions, life expectancy, traffic accidents, water quality and the theft, kidnapping, and drug trade, etc., this study evaluated the safety factors of these countries.

Among them, Switzerland with the highest safety ranks first, followed by Singapore, Spain, Japan, and Cyprus, which ranks fifth.

Spain: 37 crimes per 100,000 people

Japan: 51 crimes per 100,000 people

Cyprus: total population 1,153,000, 16 crimes for every 100,000 people

Research has pointed out that the reasons why Cyprus was rated as one of the world's fifth safest vacation countries are:

1. Good public security management system

In Cyprus, there are 466 police officers for every 100,000 people. Its Public security management ranks 21st in the ranking.

2. The low incidence of thefts 

In Cyprus, with only 111 thefts per 100,000 people. Its anti-theft safety factor is ranked 22nd.
